Alexa or Siri as visible virtual assistants? Developed in Japan this becomes reality. The Gatebox brings the holographic character Hikari to life and entertains and facilitates the users’ life. Through cameras, sensors and microphones Hikari can interact with the user on a personal level, reminds him of tasks, controls the smart home equipment and much more. This project shows how virtual assitants can be used in the future.
