Young people without a foothold.
The number of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) is rising across Europe. They frequently lack the self-confidence and essential social skills needed to pursue employment. Social training programmes are expensive, time-consuming and require trained professionals.
Digital technologies have the advantage of making experiences endlessly repeatable while removing the barriers and stress of real-life interaction.
Virtual recruiters in a job interview.
TARDIS (Training young Adults' Regulation of emotions and Development of social Interaction Skills) creates a serious-game simulation platform for young people between 18 and 25. Virtual agents behave like recruiters in a job interview — realistic, emotional and tireless conversation partners.
The emotions and social attitude of users are analysed in real time via voice and facial expression. An intuitive authoring tool allows interview scenarios to be adapted easily.
Believable virtual characters.
Charamel contributed the interactive virtual characters that act realistically and believably, enabling flexible and personalised training.
